Assignment Description

Browse the opinion sections of the major newspapers (New York Times, Washington Post, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Wall Street Journal (not free – there is a paywall), The Guardian). You may also look on news sites, such as CNN, CBS, or ABC.

Find either a news story or an opinion piece that you disagree with (such as the recent repeal/replace of Obamacare effort, climate change, Trump’s travel ban, the Take A Knee controversy, etc.). Write an opposing viewpoint. Use the argumentative strategies you learned in this unit.

Requirements

Expected length: 300+ words. Type using Times New Roman, 12 pt.
