In a previous class, we discussed the importance of knowing what the constructed or extended response question is really asking. We decided that the only way to know that is to read the question carefully.

I really can’t stress that enough. If you don’t take the time to consider your answer, you’re leaving valuable points on the table, and you’ll wind up with a lower grade than you are probably capable of.

The good news is that if you do read the question carefully and follow the advice presented by Joseph Mascio in the following YouTube video, you’ll be well on your way to higher writing scores, both in my writing class now and in any other course you’ll ever take.
